Purpose of the Role

The HR Business Partner serves as the key link between the business, support departments, and HR.

You advise and support managers on a wide range of HR matters, contribute to strategic policy development, and translate HR strategies into tactical and operational initiatives.
 
Your objective is to implement HR initiatives that contribute to the growth, engagement, and sustainable employability of our employees.
 

 

Strategic HR Advisory

  • Contribute to the HR strategy in alignment with OTTO’s mission, vision, and business objectives.
  • Monitor labor market trends, legislation, and regulatory developments, translating them into concrete actions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to management and leadership on topics such as workforce planning, organizational culture, and leadership development.

 

Tactical and Operational HR

  • Lead and support change initiatives (e.g., business growth, process optimization, HR digitalization).
  • Coordinate talent management, performance management, and learning & development activities.
  • Manage absenteeism and reintegration processes in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support recruitment and selection activities in collaboration with recruitment teams.

 

Leadership and Employee Support

  • Coach and develop managers toward strong, people-focused leadership.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees and contribute to an open communication culture.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and a safe working environment, with special attention to international employees.

 

HR Processes and Analytics

  • Provide insights through HR data and reporting, including turnover, absenteeism, hiring, and internal mobility metrics.
  • Evaluate and optimize HR processes with a focus on efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure accurate HR administration and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

 

Culture and Engagement

  • Initiate and support projects focused on employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Contribute to employer branding, onboarding, and the overall employee experience for both permanent and international employees.
  • Actively promote OTTO’s core values of respect, transparency, and empowerment.

 

Education and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management,
  • Business Administration, Organizational Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law and employment regulations.
  • Experience with international labor mobility is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience, including 2–3 years in an HR Business Partner role.
  • Experience within the staffing industry, international workforce solutions, or a similarly dynamic environment is highly preferred.

 

Skills

  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate HR data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong organizational awareness and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and decisive.
  • Experience with change management is a plus.
